Snowfall Games has announced sinister happenings are coming to PC later this year when their multiplayer murder mystery game, It Was You arrives on Steam. Players will have to be cunning enough to kill their friends and cover their tracks or perceptive enough to spot the clues that lead to the murderer. Watch the new teaser trailer below…
It Was You takes 5-12 players to a murder mystery themed Halloween party at the infamously haunted Tylock Estate. When players arrive, they are given the role of either detective or killer and all the tools necessary to manipulate evidence or uncover the murderer. Players will have a range of tools and equipment available to them, the detective will possess items like a magnifying glass, a blacklight for spotting blood and even a lie detector. The killer will have access to items like a spray bottle to erase their fingerprints or tape to plant someone else’s.
Thanks to acoustic proximity voice chat, the game will replicate lifelike reverberation and occlusion, allowing conversations to be muffled when doors are shut, or echoes along the corridors. This will provide a higher degree of immersion and mean that killers will need to shut doors if they want their activities to be undiscovered too quick.
The game will introduce NPCs which must be eliminated first, allowing a buffer for players to start investigating before they face the prospect of becoming the next victim.
Featuring:
- An unprecedented degree of immersion thanks to acoustic proximity voice chat.
- NPCs to murder and investigate first.
- A range of investigation tools that can be used to discover clues.
- Manipulate evidence and avoid detection with items like spray bottles and tape.
- Discover secret passages (like the bookshelf in the library) and slip away quickly to avoid being seen and cover the tracks.
Look out for It Was You coming to Steam for PC later this year.
