DC has released the solicitations for March 2015, and with them comes the news that 14 titles will be winding up their runs.
Here’s the list:
- Aquaman and the Others #11
- Arkham Manor
- Batman Eternal #52
- Batwoman #40
- Green Lantern: New Guardians #40
- Infinity Man and the Forever People #9
- Injustice: Gods Among Us – Year Three #12
- Klarion #6
- Red Lanterns #40
- Secret Origins #11
- Star-Spangled War Stories Featuring G.I. Zombie #8
- Swamp Thing #40
- Trinity of Sin #6
- World’s Finest #32
Now some of these aren’t surprising at all. Star-Spangled War Stories Featuring G.I. Zombie and Aquaman and the Others have consistently been bottom of the sales charts since their inception, whilst Injustice and Batman Eternal are reaching their natural conclusions.
In other cases, the writers are leaving due to signing contracts with Marvel (Charles Soule on Swamp Thing/Red Lanterns and Gerry Duggan on Arkham Manor), and DC has clearly decided it’s best to stop rather than bring on a new team.
Perhaps most surprising is the cancellation of Batwoman, which has been a New 52 mainstay. But with DC’s ‘Convergence’ event next year we can expect plenty more changes.
