20th Century Fox has turned to its Marvel consultant Mark Millar for its latest superhero offering, hiring screenwriter Carter Blanchard (Gangster Squad, Spy Hunter) to adapt Millar’s superhero picture book Kindergarten Heroes.
Illustrated by Curtis Tiegs, Kindergarten Heroes is a far cry from Millar’s typical fare and is being viewed as a potential “family-friendly film franchise” by Fox, with Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past) set to produce.
Kindergarten Heroes becomes the second Millar property to move ahead at Fox, with Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class) set to direct an adaptation of The Secret Service for release in 2014.
