September 9, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

It seems that UFC fighter Ronda Rousey is to enchance her acting career even further with Variety reporting that she is set to star in the remake of cult hit Road House.

Rousey, who recently featured in Universal’s massively successful Fast and Furious 7, has been pursuing the project for a while and has now seemingly been given the green-light to star in the remake, for which MGM is speaking to a plethora of possible screenwriters. Rousey would take on the lead role undertaken by the late Patrick Swayze in the original.

Rousey is also set to star in the biopic of her on life called My Fight/Your Fight, as well as action film Mile 22 and The Athena Project.

Production on the new Road House is set to start sometime in 2016.
