Rumour: Justice League will feature a member of the Green Lantern Corps

November 18, 2016 by Gary Collinson

When Zack Snyder assembles the Justice League next year, he’ll do so without one of the superhero team’s most integral members, with Green Lantern absent from the line-up for the DC ensemble.

Well, if a new rumour from El Mayimbe at The Wrap is to be believed, that may not be the case after all, as the site is claiming that “a member of the Green Lantern Corps. will be seen in Justice League in a key sequence.”

Now, even if this rumour proves true, it doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll be seeing Hal Jordan (or John Stewart, or Guy Gardner, or Kyle Rayner), as it could be another character as a tease to set up for 2020’s Green Lantern Corps movie.

Then again, El Mayimbe reported on several occasions that Chris Pine was playing Hal Jordan, so it could also just as easily be more complete speculation.

Would you like to see Green Lantern in Justice League, and if so which incarnation of the character? Let us know in the comments below…

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League will reunite Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Vulko, Kiersey Clemons (Dope) as Iris West, Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Steppenwolf and Julian Lewis Jones (Stella) in an as-yet-unrevealed role. It is set for release on November 17th 2017.
