Brian Grazer says Arrested Development season 5 “should be happening soon”

January 14, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Back in the summer of 2015, executive producer Brian Grazer announced that Netflix had given the green light to a fifth season of Arrested Development, which he expected to hit the streaming service some time last year.

Obviously that didn’t come off, and Grazer has now provided a new update on its status to The Wrap, revealing that deals for the cast are now in place, and it “should be happening soon”.

“I think we’re really close to pulling it off finally,” said Grazer. “All of the actors have agreed to do it and I think they’ve agreed to their compensation structure. That’s been the hardest–it’s all hard…But it should be happening soon.”

Arrested Development starred Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Tony Hale and David Cross, aoriginally ran for three seasons on Fox between 2003 and 2006, before being revived by Netflix for a fourth season in 2013.
