It appears that in addition to replacing its director (John Wick co-director David Leitch is now on board to steer the ship following Tim Miller’s exit due to creative differences), Fox is also shuffling up the writing team on Deadpool 2.
Collider is reporting that Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) has been brought in to serve as a consultant on the script for the hotly-anticipated sequel. Although original reports claimed that Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick had been replaced on the project, star Ryan Reynolds has taken to Twitter to confirm that they both remain actively involved:
.@RhettReese and Paul Wernick are still very much writing the screenplay. They're the heartbeat of the whole operation. https://t.co/7XyZvUlUSi

Goddard does have previous superhero experience, having created Deadpool for Netflix, and he was also attached to write and direct The Sinister Six for Sony before the studio decided to reboot the franchise with Marvel.
