Variety is reporting that Channing Tatum’s Free Association is teaming with China’s Tencent Pictures for an adaptation of the comic series Zombie Brother, which is being directed by David Sanberg (Kung Fury) from a script by Matt Lieberman (Scoob).
Zombie Brother follows an ordinary guy who looks to escape his city when the population start turning into zombies due to contaminated water. It has previously been adapted as a hit animated series and stage play in China.
“Zombie Brother is one of the first products of Tencent’s trans-media pipeline, utilizing animation and comics, gaming, literature and live-entertainment platforms,” said Edward Cheng, CEO, Tencent Pictures. “The material has already attracted an incredible loyal fan base in China, and we are delighted to be working alongside Free Association in bringing this beloved IP to a global audience.”
