20th Century Fox’s latest X-Men offering Logan began its international roll out today, hitting UK cinemas ahead of its North American bow this Friday.
Last month, it was reported that Hugh Jackman’s (supposedly) final outing as Wolverine was tracking a $60 million domestic opening weekend, and now comes word from Deadline that the film is looking at a global debut in excess of $170 million, with some estimates putting it as high as $200 million.
Should Logan reach $200 million, it would give the Fox franchise its third-biggest worldwide opening after Deadpool ($264.7 million) and X-Men: Days of Future Past ($262.9 million). Jackman’s previous solo outings X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine opened with $158.2 million and $139.6 million respectively.
