Valiant Entertainment has tapped Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer to direct an adaptation of its comic book series Archer & Armstrong, with Terry Rossio (Pirates of the Caribbean) penning the script.
The series, created by Jim Shooter, Barry Windsor-Smith and Bob Layton, launched in 1992 and “centers around the unlikely friendship between Armstrong, an immortal warrior who has become a drunken self-styled philosopher throughout the centuries, and Archer, a teenage prodigy who has been trained since childhood to murder him.”
Valiant is in the process of mining its various comic book properties for both feature and TV adaptations. The publisher has a five-film deal with Sony to launch a shared cinematic universe around Bloodshot and Harbinger, and also has small screen versions of Dr. Mirage and Quantum and Woody in development.
