Yesterday Ant-Man helmer Peyton Reed revealed that Marvel had found its director for the Brie Larson-headlined Captain Marvel movie, and now Variety has revealed that we’ll have not one but two people behind the camera, with Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind) set to direct the studio’s first female-led superhero movie.
According to the site, Marvel wanted to make sure that the script from Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) was on track before enlisting a director. Studio execs apparently met with multiple candidates, but were impressed by the vision of Boden and Fleck, whose other directorial credits include Half Nelson and episodes of The Affair and Billions.
