Dave Bautista says Escape Plan 2 is “completely different”

April 19, 2017 by Robert Kojder

As a hotly anticipated release for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 approaches at warp speed, the cast are now doing the media circuit and promoting the blockbuster, during whcih Dave Bautista was also asked about the upcoming Escape Plan 2: Hades.

“It’s got me and Sylvester Stallone in it, yeah!” Bautista told Screen Rant. “I can tell you this. It’s completely different than Escape Plan 1. So if you saw Escape Plan one and you were a fan or weren’t a fan, it’s a completely different route. It’s a different vibe, a different look. Obviously, I’m coming in and filling in the gap Arnold left, and you know, I am no Arnold Schwarzenegger, but then again, I am no Arnold Schwarzenegger. So there’s a completely different chemistry between Ray Breslin and myself, my character, and a good chemistry. I mesh well with Sly.”

Considering that the first film wasn’t exactly met with a glowing reception, it could be a good thing that Sylvester Stallone is approaching the sequel differently – particularly as a third movie has already been announced.

Escape Plan 2: Hades is slated for release in 2018, but before then we’ll see Bautista and Stallone as part of the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which opens on April 28th 2017 in the UK and on May 5th in the States.
