HBO’s Fahrenheit 451 to star Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon

April 20, 2017 by Samuel Brace

The HBO adaptation of Fahrenheit 451 has cast actors Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon.

Based on the classic novel by Ray Bradbury, HBO is currently developing a movie adaptation of the property that tells the story of a dystopian future where books are outlawed and ‘firemen’ burn any that are found.

Jordan is set to play the protagonist Montag, a young fireman who is in conflict with the world around him. Shannon will play the role of Beatty, Montag’s fireman captain and mentor.

Jordan will also executive produce the project via his company Outlier Productions. Ramin Bahrani is co-writing the flick with Amir Naderi, and Bahraini will also direct proceedings.

Sources have told Variety that HBO are looking at a production commitment even at this early stage — indicating that they have great faith in the project, which isn’t exactly surprising considering the stars involved and the beloved source material.
