Good news for anyone craving a bit of nostalgia for the upcoming untitled J.A. Bayona-directed Jurassic World sequel, as Jeff Goldblum’s classic character Dr. Ian Malcolm is set to make his return to the franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor previously starred in both Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park. There are currently no details as to how he’ll factor into the story of the new film, but more news is sure to come out as time passes. Moviegoers will also be able to see Goldblum later this year in Thor: Ragnarok, where he will most likely disclose some minor details about Jurassic World 2 during press interviews.

The as-yet-untitled Jurassic World sequel is set for release on June 22nd, 2018 and sees J.A. Bayona directing a cast that includes returning Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and BD Wong alongside Toby Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger), Rafe Spall (Black Mirror), Justice Smith (The Get Down), Ted Levine (Silence of the Lambs), James Cromwell (The Young Pope), Daniella Pineda (The Detour) and Geraldine Chaplin (A Monster Calls). Jeff Goldblum also reprises his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
