With everyone’s attention on DC’s Wonder Woman and Justice League, its easy to forget some of the other plans in the DC Extended Universe post-Justice League. Two of those movies will be based upon Shazam, with one focusing on the hero and the other the villainous Black Adam, played by Dwayne Johnson.
In an interview with Fandango, Johnson offered a little information on the Black Adam film and even teased a confrontation between him and Henry Cavill’s Superman.
“It’s definitely going to happen, sure,” he said about Black Adam. “We’ve had great conversations with Geoff Johns and everyone over at DC. It’s an exciting time right now for everyone at DC because they are in a process now where they are building out their DC universe really nicely. We have a really cool surprise for Black Adam that I can’t reveal, in terms of where we will see Black Adam being introduced.”
When asked about fighting Superman specifically, Johnson could only tease the confrontation, but said it will be happening at some point down the line: “One fine day… that’s coming. That’s in the cards.”
Could this ‘surprise’ for Black Adam’s introduction to the DCEU perhaps be a post credits scene in Justice League?

Meanwhile, speaking with We Got This Covered, Johnson said he’d like to see The Man From U.N.C.L.E. actor Armie Hammer portraying Shazam and even met with him, though not about about that particular role.
“I’m going to throw one name out here, and I want to see how the fans are going to react to this,” Johnson said. “A guy who I met, and after I met him I was like ‘man that guy is such a cool guy’. He is a lot bigger than I thought he would be, and when I walked away, I remember telling our producer … we both looked at each other and was like: ‘Possibly Shazam? And we’re like yes, all right.’ I’m not even going to tell you his name, I’m just going to say Lone Ranger.”
Hammer has been linked on numerous occasions to the role of Hal Jordan, although he recently said that he’s had no talks about portraying Green Lantern in the DCEU.
