It has been reported that the upcoming Justice League movie has been undergoing massive reshoots before its November release date, with the rumour even going as far to say that the film has been “remade… twice”, with further significant reshoots planned.
Given the critical reception of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad (a movie that also underwent reshoots), this report could naturally lead fans to assume that Justice League is in trouble. However, according to a Warner Bros. insider, these reshoots are being blown way out of proportion. This unnamed studio insider recently spoke to The Wrap to put people at ease:
“There has been no additional photography to date on Justice League, we have planned and will shoot additional pickups early summer. Additional photography has always been planned like most pictures in general but certainly for a tentpole of Justice League’s size and scope.”
While it’s possible that the initial rumour could be true and Warner Bros. is simply doing damage control, there’s no way to verify either of these reports, and so they should be taken with a grain of salt. However, movies this large DO need a lot of post-production work, and so there is no reason to be worried over simple pickup shoots.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League will reunite Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Vulko, Kiersey Clemons (Dope) as Iris West, Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Steppenwolf, and Julian Lewis Jones (Stella) and Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
