Is James Gunn teasing Quasar for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?

June 13, 2017 by Samuel Brace

James Gunn has taken to social media, seemingly to tease Quasar’s appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Gunn will be returning to direct the third instalment of Guardians of the Galaxy and if we can read anything into his tweets, he’s already planning which new characters will make an appearance.

There were plenty of hints in the film itself for certain individuals that could pop up in Marvel’s cosmic future, particularly with the Adam Warlock tease at the end of the movie.

But when Gunn posted a photo of his family’s old VCR, plenty noticed the brand that happened to make the device, a brand named Quasar.

Quasar, a.k.a. Wendell Vaughn, is from Earth just like Peter Quill, and gained his powers when the Quantum Bands were infused into his nervous system.

Don’t expect any confirmation of his appearance from Gunn of course, and there is a chance that the name of the VCR is just a coincidence, but it hardly seems likely given the way the tweet was worded.

Gunn has previously confirmed that Elizabeth Debicki’s Ayesha will be returning for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and that Gamora will have a more significant role.
