Deadpool congratulates Wonder Woman on its success

July 11, 2017 by Robert Kojder

As Wonder Woman overtakes the domestic box office total of Deadpool (it is currently sitting at $368.5 million vs $363.1 million) and is also poised to eventually surpass it in the international box office, the Merc with a Mouth has taken to social media to congratulate the Amazon Princess on her success. Naturally, there is a subtle joke attached to the complement. Check out the tweets here…

The Merc may be filthier, but her B.O. is stronger. Congrats #WonderWoman. pic.twitter.com/jhP1hRAKlY

Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins was very appreciative, replying with the following…

You are the absolute greatest, Ryan Reynolds @VancityReynolds Thank you! We love you and your movie too. ❤️❤️❤️ #deadpool #deadpool2 ❤️❤️❤️ https://t.co/6Raj3VBEIR

Currently, Wonder Woman is the 10th highest grossing superhero film at the box office, and could potentially climb even higher by passing up Spider-Man 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Additionally, what this goes to prove is that although R-rated blockbuster filmmaking is most definitely suprising expectations in impressive fashion, there is still a demand for PG-13 summer fun.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman sees Patty Jenkins (Monster) directing a cast that includes Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (The Theory of Everything), Ewen Bremner (Snowpiercer), Said Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Force Majeure), Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead) and Ann Wolf.
