Now that production is back up and running – seemingly smoothly – following the departure of original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, actor Donald Glover has been chatting to THR about the appointment of Ron Howard on the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars Anthology movie.
“Ron is such a legend, and he knows exactly what the vision for what he is doing is … [but Phil and Chris] hired us, so you sort of feel like, ‘I know I’m not your first choice …’ And you worry about that,” said Glover, who is portraying the iconic character of Lando Calrissian. “To be honest, I don’t know exactly what happened. I feel like I was the baby in the divorce, or the youngest child. The oldest child is like, ‘We know what’s happening, but we are keeping you out of it.’ And I’m just like, [Glover’s voice rises several octaves] ‘Was that scene good? How did you feel?’”

Meanwhile, Ron Howard has taken to social media to give us yet another behind-the-scenes peek at the film, sharing an image of him sitting at a monitor checking a camera move…
Even looking closely at the image, it’s difficult to make out what’s going on, although it’s clearly a gathering of some sort with a female character (Emilia Clarke, perhaps?)…
Han Solo stars Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) as the famous smuggler, Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Beckett (Solo’s mentor), Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Thandie Newton (Westworld), Ian Kenny (Sing Street), Michael K. Williams (The Night Of) and Warwick Davis (Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi) in as-yet-unrevealed roles. It is set for release on May 25th 2018.
