A couple of weeks after Avengers: Infinity War wrapped production, directors Joe and Anthony Russo took to social media this week to announce that filming is now underway on the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen revealed that none of the cast have been given the full scripts for Marvel’s two-part blockbuster for fear of spoilers, while Karen Gillan revealed that Nebula has “a new BFF” in Infinity War: “I know who her new BFF is, and I can’t tell you. I can’t. I promise you it’s brilliant and unexpected and just so good… I don’t know about any frenemies. She is on a clear mission, as everybody is, to deal with someone with a glove, and I think that is the most important issue. So I think people are grouping together to take care of this task.” Any guesses..?
…Next up from Marvel is November’s Thor: Ragnarok, and this week saw the release of a new international poster featuring Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hela (Cate Blanchett), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Odin (Anthony Hopkins), Heimdall (Idris Elba) and The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) [see here], along with a selection of new images, including a shot of Loki and Valkyrie mid knife fight [see here and here]. …In a couple of other bits and pieces from the big screen side of the MCU, the first set photos from Ant-Man and the Wasp have arrived online, featuring Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne) and Michael Douglas (Hank Pym) [see here], and Brie Larson has been speaking about taking on the role of Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel, and which Marvel heroes she’d like to do battle with: “I do kind of have fantasies of battling The Hulk, just because that’s like, it’s just visually so good. The Captain Marvel thing was something I really spent a lot of time thinking about. And eventually I came to the conclusion that being part of a giant feminist film that can be a symbol for people, that was one I wished I would have had, just outweighs some of the small annoyances [of fame]. Like, they’re really small in comparison to the good that it can do…”

I felt it was a little bit too early because the visual effects were not ready – Medusa’s hair was not ready. So I was really nervous about it and would think the fans would not really like it. The trailer was made by other people, so I was really nervous about it when I saw it. So I was like, ‘oh guys maybe we should hold off’, but it was too late because it was already in the open. The second trailer really got all the fans back on track and they really like it now and they really want to see it. I was really happy with that second trailer…”
