True Lies is heading to the small screen, with THR reporting that Fox has given a put pilot commitment to a TV reboot of the 1994 action-comedy.
Marc Guggenheim (Arrow) is penning the script and McG (Charlie’s Angels) has signed on to direct. They will also executive produce along with James Cameron, who wrote, produced and directed the original film. The TV reboot is described as “a modern version of the story about how a suburban couple adjusts when one of them is revealed to be a spy.”
True Lies starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Harry Tasker, a family man posing as a computer salesman, who is actually leading a double life as a black ops agent. Also featuring in the cast of the film were Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Arnold, Bill Paxton, Art Malik and Tia Carrere.
