By all accounts, Avengers: Infinity War is shaping up to be a mega movie, featuring multiple characters from across the entire spectrum of the MCU, and culminating in a battle for the ages. The stakes seem to be raised considerably this time around and from what we hear, it seems like it’s going to be bigger and bigger.
One character that has had a huge part to play in the Captain America trilogy and will continue as Cap’s right hand man in Infinity War is childhood friend Bucky, a.k.a. brainwashed assassin, Winter Soldier. Portrayed by Sebastian Stan, it appears the odds are stacked against the potential future Captain America, as he faces Thanos and his legions.
Speaking with MTV, Stan likened his character to Game of Thrones‘ Jon Snow, stating that: “I feel a lot like that Jon Snow character [in] ‘Battle of the Bastards. When there’s that shot of Jon Snow, from the back as horses are charging at him and he’s just standing there, that’s kind of how I feel on set at times. Will I make this stampede or not?”

It sounds like there’ll be a lot stacked against the Winter Soldier as he teams with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to take down the galaxy’s mightiest villain. We last saw Bucky at the end of Civil War as he was put into stasis in Wakanda, protected by the Black Panther. It’l be interesting to see how James Barnes returns to the fray to end up in what sounds like a dire situation!
With Stan proclaiming that “It’s certainly is the biggest culmination of anything and everything they’ve done so far,” we know we’re in for a treat as we now await the first official release of a trailer!
As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
