If you were looking forward to seeing the cast of Sex and the City reuniting for a third outing on the big screen, we have some bad news for you as Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed to Extra that plans for Sex and the City 3 have been scrapped.
“It’s over,” said Parker. “We’re not doing it. … I’m disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”
Sex and the City launched on HBO on 1998, with Sarah Jessica Parker starring alongside Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. The show ran for 94 episodes across six seasons, and was followed by two commercially successful films in 2008 and 2010, as well as the prequel series The Carrie Diaries, which aired between 2013 and 2014.
