Although it is yet to be officially confirmed by HBO, TV Line is reporting that the cable network is eyeing a Spring 2018 start date for the second season of its acclaimed drama series Big Little Lies.
“We’re kicking around ideas and trying to lasso the talent [and] get the band back together,” said writer and executive producer David E. Kelley. “It’s just a lot of logistical things. But I’m optimistic because everyone wants to do it. We feel we still have storytelling to do. No decision has been made yet, but we’re hopeful. Where we left it, I felt like it did open the opportunity for a lot more storytelling.”
The series, based upon Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name, proved to be a huge hit for HBO, and scored eight wins at the Primetime Emmys, including Outstanding Limited Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series for Nicole Kidman, who starred alongside Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley and Alexander Skarsgard.
