Not content with its Venom and Silver & Black movies, Sony has added a third project to its shared Spider-Man universe, with THR reporting that the studio is developing a Morbius, the Living Vampire film.
The project has been penned by screenwriters Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, and the script has already been submitted to Sony. Sharpless and Sazama most recently penned Power Rangers, while their previous credits include The Last Witch Hunter, Gods of Egypt and Dracula Untold.
Created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane, Morbius made his Marvel debut in Amazing Spider-Man #101 in 1971 and is the alter-ego of Dr. Michael Morbius, a scientist who became inflicted with a form of vampirism after attempting to cure himself of a rare blood disease.
Sony is pushing full steam ahead with its plans to develop its Spidey-related Marvel properties, although it is expected that the spinoff movies will not be connected to the Marvel-produced Spider-Man: Homecoming. Venom is currently in production ahead of an October 5th 2018 release, while Silver & Black is slated to arrive on February 8th 2019.
