UPDATE: Apparently the filming has now been pushed back to March, and will shoot through to July/August in New Orleans.
After several years of false starts, creative differences and development hell, it seems that 20th Century Fox is finally ready to begin production on its Gambit movie, with Omega Underground reporting that filming on the X-Men spinoff is expected to get underway in February and continue on through to July.
Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean, A Cure for Wellness) is set to direct the movie, which will see Channing Tatum taking on the role of the fan favourite mutant Remy LeBeau. Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex) recently signed on for the female lead, thought to be the character of Bella Donna Boudreaux, while rumours have suggested that Candra The Benefactress could also feature in the film.
