Chris Hemsworth will be taking time off from acting to be with his family

January 26, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Thor actor Chris Hemsworth has revealed that he plans to take a break from acting to spend more time with his family.

Hemsworth has been particularly busy of late and with the huge success of Thor: Ragnarok, one might think the actor would want to capitalise on such momentum.

However, all his work with the Avengers movies and other projects has forced Hemsworth to be away from his family more than he would like.

Speaking to The Times UK (via Comicbook.com), Hemsworth revealed his thinking on the subject:

“I want to be able to take the kids to school. I may even be off all year. It all happened at once and I’ve thought about it and gone, ‘God, am I trying to do too much at once? There’s no regret by any means. It just comes out of wanting to be [at home] more.

“I want to be there more. My wife and I were talking the other day about how the years are flying by: our daughter [India Rose] is five and a half and the boys [twins called Tristan and Sasha] are three and a half. And however much time you do have together, it never seems like enough. It’s always exhausting, even when we have help with grandparents or a nanny.”

It’s certainly an understandable desire and there are of course things far more important than a successful movie career – a young family being one of them. How long he will be out exactly is uncertain, but perhaps this is the perfect time for a recharge and some quality time at home.
