Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. return to the world of Kick-Ass next month with the launch of a brand new comic book series, albeit with a new hero under the mask as high schooler Dave Lizewski makes way for Patience Lee, a black female military veteran and mother.
Although we’re still a few weeks away from the release of the first issue, it seems that Millar already has one eye on a potential movie adaptation, and has even identified who he’d like to see taking on the role of Patience – Thor: Ragnarok star Tessa Thompson.
A lot of fans asking who I'd want as this new Kick-Ass. To be honest, one choice really jumps out and that's @TessaThompson_x. https://t.co/h3llrt75qO

Given that Kick-Ass 2 didn’t exactly set the box office alight back in 2013, it remains to be seen whether there’d be any interest in a third movie at the moment – although female superheroes are big business these days, so it’s certainly possible.
Look for Patience Lee’s debut in Kick-Ass #1 on February 14th 2018.
