After making his debut in the post credits scene of The Avengers, we’re now just a few short months away from seeing Thanos take centre stage as he battles Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Infinity War. And, speaking to Empire Magazine, Joe Russo has been chatting about the Mad Titan, and what he and his brother Anthony are hoping to achieve with the villain:
“Darth Vader was the pre-eminent villain of my childhood, and we’re hoping to make a Darth Vader for a new generation,” said Russo. “We’re hoping he has that complexity to him, and that he strikes fear into the heart of the audience, but at the same time they go on a journey with him. Frankly, Avengers 3 is his movie.”
If there’s been one major criticism levied towards Marvel, it’s that the films’ villains haven’t always been up to par. Let’s hope that changes when Marvel unleashes the Mad Titan this May…
