Yesterday we brought you some comments from Dolph Lundgren about his upcoming role in Warner Bros.’ DC blockbuster Aquaman, and now the action star has been chatting about another of his projects, Creed II, which will see him returning as Rocky IV antagonist Ivan Drago.
“That was something Sylvester Stallone suggested to me about a year ago,” said Lundgren. “I wasn’t sure, since it’s been about 30 years. I wanted Ivan Drago to live in the past, but it turned out that the script for Creed II was really good. All I can tell you is Ivan is back. The Russians come back over for a challenge.”
Creed II is being directed by Steven Caple Jr. (The Land) from a script by Cheo Hodari Coker (Luke Cage), and will see Michael Jordan’s Adonis Creed taking on Ivan Drago Jr., played by boxer Florian Munteanu.
Creed II is set for release on November 21st, 2018.
