Donald Glover, one of the stars of Solo: A Star Wars Story, says the film is “a lot more fun” than other films in the franchise.
It’s a little over three months until Solo: A Star Wars Story arrives in cinemas and with the marketing campaign now in top gear, we are constantly learning more about what will appear in the film.
Regarding the film’s tone, however, we need not look any further than Donald Glover, who is playing Lando Calrissian in Lucasfilm’s second Star Wars anthology movie.
Speaking to ET, the actor spoke about how Solo compares to offer Star Wars films: “I think it’s just a lot more fun. All the Star Wars [movies] are really fun, but I think this movie, we know what’s going to happen, we know they’re not going to die, ya know? We know, kind of, what happens, but how we got there, I guess, is the crux of it. So we’re allowed to have a lot more fun than I think the other movies where you have to deal with a lot of the lineage in what’s going to happen. I think this movie’s, like, just a fun, summer film. I’m really excited about it. It’s really cool.”
A fun summer film will certainly be a change from recent Star Wars outings which have leaned in a darker direction as well as being released in December. It will be interesting to see just how Solo turns out and if fans will enjoy seeing a more care-free Star Wars adventure.
