If you’re unfamiliar with Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell is a Kree who resides on Earth under the alias of Dr. Walter Lawson, having been sent there to spy on humanity in order to determine whether it is a threat to the Kree Empire. However, he quickly grows fond of Earth and its inhabitants and is branded a traitor by the Kree. He is also integral to Carol Danvers’ origin, when their genetic structures meld together following an explosion, which grants Carol her powers before she later assumes the mantle of Captain Marvel.
