Bad Boys TV spinoff titled L.A.’s Finest

April 18, 2018 by Gary Collinson

NBC has announced that its upcoming Bad Boys spinoff pilot starring Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba is going by the title L.A.’s Finest.

L.A.’s Finest has been written by Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis (The Blacklist), and sees Union reprising her Bad Boys II role as Syd Burnett, sister of Martin Lawrence’s Marcus Burnett. The former DEA agent is now working as a police detective in Los Angeles, where she is partnered with Nancy McKenna (Jessica Alba), a working mother who can’t help but look at Syd’s free-spirited lifestyle with some grass-is-greener envy.

Union and Alba are joined in the cast of the pilot by Ernie Hudson, Zach Gilford, Duane Martin, Ryan McPartlin and Zach McGowan. The two actresses also both serve as executive producers on the show alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, Doug Belgrad, Sonnier Margolis, Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Jeff Gaspin and Jeff Morrone.

In addition to the spinoff TV pilot, Sony Pictures remains in development on a third instalment in the Bad Boys movie franchise, with Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Gangsta, Snowfall) attached to direct the returning Martin Lawrence and Will Smith in Bad Boys For Life.
