A new comedy series may be under way at HBO as the network has ordered a pilot for Mrs. Fletcher starring Katheryn Hahn (Transparent). According to Variety, Hahn will star in the lead role for the pilot, based on the book of the same name by Tom Perrotta.
Mrs. Fletcher is described as a dual coming of age story, exploring the impact of internet porn and social media on intimate relationships. The series will follow empty-nest mom Eve Fletcher (Hahn) and her college-student son as they embrace their newfound freedom with mixed results. Eve, hoping to jump-start her love life, adopts a sexy new persona and discovers that her world is full of unexpected erotic possibilities. The show is a dual coming-of-age story, exploring the impact of internet porn and social media on intimate relationships.
Nicole Holofcener (One Mississippi) will direct the pilot while Perrotta, who also wrote the novel that served as the basis for HBO’s The Leftovers, will write the script. Both Holofcener and Perrotta will executive produce alongside Jessi Klein and Sarah Condon.
