Bad news for fans of Bruce Campbell’s chainsaw-wielding Deadite killer Ashley J. Williams, as Starz has announced that it has cancelled the TV series Ash vs. Evil Dead after three seasons.
“Ash vs. Evil Dead has taken audiences on a wild ride for three seasons thanks to the fantastic performances and creative efforts of Sam, Bruce, Rob and the entire cast and crew. We are proud to send the show out with a bang…and a splat,” said Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming for Starz, when making the announcement.
Bruce Campbell had previously teased that we could get a fourth Evil Dead movie if Ash vs. Evil Dead wasn’t renewed, before stating last month that he expects a cancellation would mean we’ve seen the last of Ash. And judging by his comments on Twitter, it seems Campbell is saying farewell to the beloved character:
