Lupita Nyong’o to headline John Woo’s The Killer remake

May 1, 2018 by Matt Rodgers

It’s a busy week for John Woo related news, with his new thriller Manhunt landing on Netflix this Friday, and now Deadline reporting that the remake of his own 1989 classic The Killer, has found its assassin in the form of Lupita Nyong’o.

The Oscar winning actress will take on the role made famous by Chow Yun-Fat, a mob assassin who takes on one final job in order to pay for a sight restoring operation for a nightclub worker blinded in the crossfire of his most recent job.

Universal are stumping up the cash for the remake, which Woo will begin shooting later this year.
