Outlander renewed for two additional seasons, Season 4 to premiere in November

May 9, 2018 by Ricky Church

Fans looking forward to the fourth season of Outlander will be excited to know that the hit Starz series will be returning this November. Additionally, the network has already taken the steps to renew Outlander for not one, but two more seasons. This means Claire and Jamie’s trip through time will continue on for a fifth and sixth season.

The announcement was made by Chris Albrecht, Starz President and CEO, in association with Sony Pictures Television. “Fans can rest assured their beloved Claire and Jamie will be back facing new challenges, adversaries, and adventures in seasons five and six as we delve into American history and continue the story of the Frasers as they settle in the New World,” said Albrecht.

The series is based on the series of novels from Diana Gabaldon. There are eight books in the series with ninth currently being written by Gabaldon that tells the saga of Claire and Jaimie Fraser and their love that spans generations after she travels back through time to 17th century Scotland.

STARZ and Sony Pictures Television have partnered to create Outlander, an original series adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling books. Outlander follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives. Outlander spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history, and adventure into one epic tale.
