In a piece over at Variety discussing the decline of star power in Hollywood, it has been revealed that Robert Downey Jr. earned a cool $10 million for his role in last year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
While that doesn’t come close to the $40 million plus per film he’s reportedly banked from the likes of The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War, Downey only worked on Homecoming for three days, and featured in the movie for around eight minutes in total.
That’s $3.33 million per day, or $1.25 million per minute of screen time. It’s also $3 million more than Sony is reportedly paying Tom Hardy for his lead role in the upcoming Spidey spinoff Venom, while some online reports suggest that Tom Holland earned around $1.5 million for portraying the web-slinger in Homecoming.
