It’s taken a few years for Sony to decide how to move forward with its Men in Black franchise, but now that the studio has set its sights on a spinoff reboot things appear to be coming together very quickly indeed.
In February, it was announced that The Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray will be helming the new film, with Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson subsequently signing on for the lead roles.
Well, with production slated to get underway in June, the folks at Omega Underground have unearthed some plot details for the film, stating that it “will see Tessa’s character Em try to prove herself by joining the London MIB and is paired with the former ace Agent H, played by Hemsworth. The pair become involved in a murder mystery that has them tavelling the globe.”
The new Men in Black is set for release on May 17th 2019 and will “acknowledge and build on the world” of the first three movies, though neither Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones are expected to make an appearance.
