Jeff Goldblum on whether he would be open to returning for Jurassic World 3

June 21, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Jeff Goldblum has commented on if he would like to return for Jurassic World 3, saying that he is curious about what comes next.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sees the big return of Jeff Goldblum’s beloved character Ian Malcolm to the franchise. Goldblum’s wacky and eccentric performances have always been endearing to fans but would the actor be interested in coming back once again in Jurassic World 3?

Speaking in a recent interview with Collider about what the future holds for him and the franchise, he says that he would be happy to return if the filmmakers would like him to:

“Who knows? I’m curious about it. If nothing else happened, I’d be entirely satisfied and nourished and lucky and thrilled to have done all of this. If I can be of any service, that’s my posture and authentic feeling. I’ve kind of nosed around, ’cause I’ve had such a great time, and [Jurassic World 3 director Colin Trevorrow’s] so good. We did that Jeep commercial, he directed that. He’s awful good. I’d like to work with him more on anything. I can imagine, but it’s up to them. Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael, who I think is writing the script with him.

“Who knows? Who knows where I’ll be in 2021, if I’m sitting up and taking nourishment, and able to contribute? I’d love to, I’ll bet,” Goldblum said jokingly. “We might be right back here. And then, yes, we can talk about, ‘Well, Jeff, did you ever think we talked about the last one that you’d be in this third one?'”

Jurassic World 3 is scheduled for a release date of June 11, 2021. You can see Goldblum in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom around the world today and in North America from this Friday.

t’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.
