Back in March of last year it was announced that the BBC and AMC were in development on a second season of the John Le Carre adaptation The Night Manager, and now Deadline is reporting that a writers room has been set.
Joining the previously announced Matthew Orton (Operate Finale) are Namsi Khan (Black Mirror), Francesca Gardiner (The Man in the High Castle) and spy author Charles Cumming (The Man Between).
According to the site, all four are now hard at work on plots for the second season, which will tell an original tale given that Le Carre never wrote a sequel to his novel. As yet, there’s been no word on returning cast members, although Tom Hiddleston has said that he would be open to returning as Jonathan Pine for a second outing.
The first season of The Night Manager aired in 2016 on BBC One in the UK and on AMC in the U.S., winning two Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes. Read our review here.
