It looks like we may have our second new cast addition for Top Gun: Maverick, with Variety reporting that Oscar-winner Jennifer Connelly has joined the sequel to the 1986 classic.
According to the site, Connelly will portray the female lead, a single mother who runs a bar near the air force base where Tom Cruise’s Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is stationed.
Connelly joins fellow new addition Miles Teller (Whiplash), who has been cast as Bradley Bradshaw, the son of the original movie’s Goose (Anthony Edwards). Val Kilmer is also on board to return as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky.
