Dave Filoni has admitted that he is not involved with the “day-to-day” running of the new Lucasfilm animated series Star Wars Resistance.
One of the most beloved figures over at Lucasfilm by fans is, without question, the man behind Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, Dave Filoni.
Since Rebels has finished up its run, Filoni has gone onto create a new show called Star Wars Resistance but the producer has admitted to IGN that he actually isn’t fully hands-on with the show like he has been in the past:
“Resistance is a bit different, in that I’m not on that day-to-day. I created and set it in motion, but I’ve given that to other people to raise up, people that I’ve worked with a long time, who I think deserve the opportunity to tell stories and I think it’s exciting, and I give them my thoughts and notes – I was just doing that this morning, like George Lucas would give me. So that’s fun.”
While fans may be disappointed by this news, they can take solace in knowing that Filoni is bringing a new season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars to fruition. It’s also hard to believe that Filoni won’t be heavily involved in more projects for Lucasfilm in the near future.
