Though he was cast in Quentin Tarintino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood last month, Mike Moh’s (Inhumans) role had not been revealed, but now TheWrap has reported he will be portraying legendary actor and martial arts expert Bruce Lee in the film.
The size of Moh’s role as Lee isn’t known yet, but it is expected his appearance will be a brief one in the film. For a time after the Manson Family murdered Sharon Tate, played by Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad), Roman Polanski briefly thought Bruce Lee was the one who had killed her and some of their closest friends.
In addition to starring in Marvel’s short-lived Inhumans series, Moh has portrayed Ryu in two live-action Street Fighter web series with a third, Street Fighter: World Warrior, currently in development. Much like Lee, Moh is a martial arts expert and has often cited the famous actor as an inspiration for his career.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbour… Sharon Tate.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is set for release on July 26th 2019 and features a star-studded cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio (Django Unchained), Brad Pitt (Inglourious Basterds), Margot Robbie (I, Tonya), Burt Reynolds (Boogie Nights), Timothy Olyphant (Santa Clarita Diet), Al Pacino (The Godfather), Damien Lewis (Billions), Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs), Dakota Fanning (Ocean’s 8), Luke Perry (Riverdale), Emile Hirsch (The Autopsy of Jane Doe), James Marsden (Westworld), Clifton Collins Jr. (Westworld), Julia Butters (American Housewife), Keith Jefferson (The Hateful Eight), Nicholas Hammond (The Sound of Music), Scoot McNairy (Halt and Catch Fire), Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs), Spencer Garrett (The Magicians), Martin Kove (Cobra Kai), James Remar (Django Unchained), Brenda Vaccaro (Once Is Not Enough), Nichole Galicia (Django Unchained), Mike Moh (Inhumans), Craig Stark (The Hateful Eight), Marco Rodriguez (Inhumans), Ramon Franco (Tour of Duty), and Raul Cardona (Where the Sky Is Born).
