While much of the talk about the upcoming twelfth season of The Big Bang Theory has indicated that it may well be the last, it seems that CBS isn’t quite ready to give up on its ratings juggernaut.
According to TV Line, CBS CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl has revealed at the Television Critics Association summer press tour that: “We don’t believe it’s the final year. We are in preliminary discussions to renew the show.”
Showrunner Steve Holland has previously revealed that he’s been treating season twelve as the final season “until I hear differently”, while star Johnny Galecki was also quoted as stating ““I think at this point everyone’s very comfortable with 12 seasons being a good time to go home and see our families.”
The twelfth season of The Big Bang Theory is set to premiere on Monday September 24th before moving to a regular Thursday time slot from September 27th. Let us know in the comments below if you’re hoping for a season thirteen renewal, or if you feel the show has already run its course…
