With its record-breaking 30th season set to launch next weekend, Fox has unveiled a special anniversary logo to mark the the iconic animated sitcom’s latest milestone.
Created by Matt Groening, The Simpsons began life as a series of shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show in 1987, before spinning off into its own prime time animated series, the first episode of which – ‘Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire’ – premiered on December 17th 1989.
The season 30 premiere ‘Bart’s Not Dead’ will be the show’s 640th episode overall, and sees the Simpsons being offered a movie deal by Christian film producers after Bart lies about meeting Jesus following an accident that puts him in the hospital. Guest starring in the episode, which will air on Sunday, September 30th, are Gal Gadot, Emily Deschanel, Jonathan Groff, Pete Holmes and Dave Attell.
