Last week, a report surfaced from IGN claiming that Six Underground, the new $150 million-budgeted Netflix film from director Michael Bay and star Ryan Reynolds, is actually a secret ThunderCats movie.
We never reported on the original rumour, as a) set photos from Six Underground clearly show it’s not a ThunderCats movie, and b) the IGN report linked to an April Fool’s Day post we wrote in 2012 about Michael Bay making a ThunderCats movie (and changing them to dogs), stating that it “added credibility” to the report. Which obviously it didn’t.
Well, just in case there was any doubt left in your mind, Ryan Reynolds has taken to Twitter to clear things up with a rather tongue-in-cheek response:
I don’t understand… Six Undergroud is an insane action film set in amazing locales like Florence, Abu Dhabi and Thundera. This is the most ridiculous rumor yet.

While it’s not a ThunderCats movie, plot details for Six Underground are being kept under wraps for the time being, but we do know that Ryan Reynolds will be joined in the cast by Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist), Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim Uprising), Corey Hawkins (The Walking Dead), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (Sicario: Day of the Soldado), Ben Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody) and Lior Raz (Fauda).
