Gotham season 5 gets a premiere date, 2 extra episodes, and Jaime Murray

October 31, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Fox has announced that the fifth and final season of its Batman prequel series Gotham is set to premiere on January 3rd 2019, while the show has been granted an additional two episodes, taking the episode count to 12 from the original order of 10.

The announcement was also accompanied by some casting news, with Deadline reporting that Jaime Murray (Dexter, The Originals) has been cast as Theresa Walker, a seemingly original character who “emerges as Jim Gordon’s principal nemesis in the season, and comes to Gotham harbouring a dark secret about her past.”

The producers of Gotham are packing in a lot into the final season, with an adaptation of the ‘No Man’s Land’ comic book arc, the introduction of Bane and Harley Quinn, and Bruce Wayne’s final transformation into the Dark Knight (which will also reportedly include a ten-year time jump in the series finale).

Are you looking forward to the final season of Gotham? How do you think Jaime Murray’s Theresa Walker will factor into the storyline? Let us know in the comments…
