Universal Pictures has announced that it has pushed back the release of the Robert Downey Jr-headlined The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle some nine months, with the film now set to debut on January 17th 2020.
The film, which is being directed by Stephen Gaghan (Syriana, Gold), was originally set to arrive on April 12th 2019, one week after the release of Warner Bros. and DC Film’s Shazam!. It will now open alongside Warner Bros.’ Just Mercy, while the long-rumoured Bad Boys 3 has also been circulating the January 2020 date.
The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle will see Downey taking on the role of Dolittle, while the star-studded cast also includes Emma Thompson, Rami Malek, Selena Gomez, Ralph Fiennes, Kumail Nanjiani, Craig Robinson, Octavia Spencer, Carmen Ejogo, Tom Holland, Marion Cotillard, Frances de la Tour, John Cena, Antonio Banderas, Jim Broadbent and Michael Sheen.
