Last month it was announced that Matthew McConaughey (White Boy Rick), Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) and Kate Beckinsale (Underworld: Blood Wars) are set to star in Toff Guys, director Guy Ritchie’s return to the crime genre, and now comes word that Hugh Grant (Paddington 2) has also joined the cast.
Toff Guys is set to explore the collision between old money European wealth and the modern marijuana industrial complex and follows a British drug lord as he tries to sell off his highly profitable empire to a dynasty of Oklahoma billionaires.
According to Deadline, Grant – who is coming off rave reviews for his role in the miniseries A Very English Scandal – will play Fletcher, “a British gossip journalist with a reputation of going into people’s lives, and undoing them”
Toff Guys is set to begin production this year, while Ritchie’s next film – the live-action Disney adaptation Aladdin – is set to hit cinemas in May 2019. Watch the first trailer here.
